Round up of football news

Here are a couple of sports stories that caught my eye in recent weeks away from the madness of the Champions League:

  • Amid fears that the stadiums will not be ready in time, FIFA has set aside a £400m emergency fund to be used in the event of the 2010 World Cup collapsing like a big, football-shaped flan.  For more check out The Guardian
