Monday Update

January 5, 2009

The weekend that was: End of the holidays!  Friday night was a lovely dinner with a family from church, great to get to know them better – some great stories.

Saturday was sleep-in and then onto finalising Sunday plans, interspersed with playing on our Wii, which we’ve bought in the January sales.  The evening was a date night with Hannah, watching football followed by the new programme on eurovision.  We even sneaked in a game of Settlers of Catan, which I found myself enjoying!

Sunday was a busy day, popping into our 11-14s in the morning, and then speaking at both our 11-14s and 14-18s in the evening.  We had a number of leaders ill, and equipment not where it should be which meant the first week of speaking at both groups to keep them running felt very hard work.  From 6.30-8.20pm I was speaking/leading all night which felt exhausting.  I got home, had a go on the Wii, and then stayed up late to watch the FA Cup highlights – some good games, although Liverpool have got a tough draw in the next round against Everton!

On my to-do list this week: Speaking a lot in the next few weeks so need to get prep done, vision for our schools work – good conversations but what are actually going to do, and finishing off the vision documents for our youth leadership team.

Procrastinating about: I need to finish the second half of the vision documents for our youth leadership team – I’ve not really been procrastinating about them, they just seem to be less urgent than other stuff happening this week.

Book I’m in the midst of: Started a new reading plan, which I’ll blog about later, but means I’m reading 3-4 books at a time.

Music that I’ve been working along to: Jools Holland – especially Bloodsucker Blues.

How I’m feeling about this week: Very busy, and a need to get planning.
