Monday update

July 7, 2009

The weekend that was: Friday night was based down on the river, doing some time kayaking.  Great to do something so different, and to spend time with young people just chatting and catching up.

Saturday was a nice day of doing prep for Sunday, watching some of the tennis, reading a lot, and even went for a run.

Sunday included a bizarre morning which included me getting locked out of the house, and having to re-create the session which I’d written the day before.  After a bit of a messy morning it was great to hang out at the Lounge lunch, which is for the 20s and 30s at Tonbridge Baptist Church – a lvoely BBQ in perfect sunshine.  We then hosted the first of our parents meetings to share our youth vision, and then straight on into the evening service and the youthwork.

On my task list this week: speaking lots in the next few weeks, so doing some prep for those, trying to finalise a few key youth events, and popping into some schools, including Hannah’s end of year class performance.

Procrastinating about: Got some of my email and desk under control last week, really want to do more on that.

Book I’m in the midst of: Started Serving with Eyes Wide Open: Doing Short-term Missions with Cultural Intelligence by David Livermore, and 23 Sweet FAs: Round the World with a Football Table by Andy Sloan.

Music that I’ve been working along to: Back to old school Jack Johnson

How I’m feeling about this week: Slightly stressed about getting details confirmed on a few key events.
