Dan, one of our Ministry Apprentices is in the process of developing a youth band. A couple of weeks ago they started regular rehearsals, and tonight I popped in to share a quick thought with them. I thought my notes might be of interest to you:
- We want perfection – people need a strong, clear lead, but we want perfection because it is the minimum we should offer in worship.
- But this is not at the expense of our heart – we must be worshippers to lead others in worship.
- Check out Luke 10:38-43
- Mary & Martha – Martha wasn’t wrong in giving hospitality, she was wrong to let it dominate her. It’s important to stop and sit at the feet of our Lord.
- You must go with what you believe God is leading you to do – both corporately and individually.
They’re an amazing set of young people and I’m really looking forward to seeing how they develop as a band.
