Practical Theology for Women by Wendy Alsup should be essential reading. Similar to Wayne Grudem’s 20 Beliefs Every Christian Should Know, it goes through the basics of faith. Unlike Grudem, who takes an academic approach to these doctrines, Alsup, whilst remaining equally biblically based, applies each doctrine in practical ways for women.
As a man reading the book I was reminded afresh of some of the key biblical truths, and it was clear to me that the application, particularly around identity and value would be of help to women. I’m passing this book onto my wife and I’ll be interested to hear her reaction to it.
