Today I finished Unlearning Church: Just When You Thought You Had Leadership All Figured Out! by Michael Slaughter, with Warren Bird. I enjoyed this book which called me to a fresh radical sense of leadership. A leadership that engages with current trends and models but keeps me focussed on God, His calling on my life, and His vision for the ministry I work in.
Throughout the book there a short sports on key nuggets, so for example, near the start of the book there is a chunk on “God would not create you for failure”, and later in the book reminding us that the church’s mission is “life transformation” and that “Jesus intended his followers to be an organic movement of unpaid servants”.
The book covers a wide range of areas linked to church, ministry and leadership. Michael Slaughter writes passionately, clearly and enthusiastically from his experience at Ginghamsburg Church.
