As I’ve been reflecting on the environment, creation, and climate-change so I’ve been keeping a close eye on enviromental news. A couple of headlines that have interested me, that might be worth reading include:
- Cambridge research could lead to real-time pollution maps: A chance encounter in the coffee lounge of the Cambridge chemistry department could lead to real-time maps of pollution in the city, as an offshoot of an EU project that is nearing completion in the city.
- Growth of global carbon emissions halved in 2008, say Dutch researchers: The growth of global carbon dioxide emissions fell by half in 2008, mainly due to the global recession and high oil prices.
- If you were the bike tsar, how would you make the UK committed to cycling?: The government is talking about a national plan to make cycling an everyday transport choice.
- Mobile phone giants to make European one-size-fits-all charger from 2010: The world’s biggest mobile phone makers announced a deal today agreeing to a universal standard phone charger that will work on millions of handsets made by different manufacturers.
