Interesting stories floating around the web of a trend in the UK of being debaptised.  I haven’t heard of it myself, except from on the web.  Here’s some info from the church mice:

The National Secular Society has all the details here, and claims that 100,000 people have already done it.  Well, they’ve downloaded the form to see what it’s about, which isn’t quite the same thing necessarily.  A fair guess that some of them will be like us, who took a look out of curiosity just to see what all the fuss is about.

  1. Hi Chris
I came across the same statistics quoted in a variety of articles written in the last 10 years. The origin is apparently a survey conducted in Switzerland in 2000 – but all the links I followed to find the original material went nowhere. I’d be interested if you were any more successful than I in authenticating this data.
