Sigurdsson had looked set to join the reds following a successful loan spell under Rodgers at Swansea last season. However reports in Germany claim a deal has been agreed between Hoffenheim and Tottenham for a fee around 10m euros.
BBC Sport journalist Ben Smith wrote on twitter this morning “Hoffenheim had an agent in England yesterday, he flew back to Germany pm. If a deal has been done, almost certain it’s not LFC.” Now am I the only one who thinks it’s weird Spurs are signing him without even appointing a manager? Why would Sigurdsson even want to choose a club which currently don’t have a new manager? What if he is not in the new managers plans for next season. Sounds like a lot of paper talk to me and I personally think this deal is far from complete.
