The weekend that was: Friday was a nice chilled out night.  It’s been great to see some relationships really flourishing between young people and leaders.  We spent quite a while on the topic of fair-trade with Amicus, our 14-18s group, which was followed up with lots of chillin’ out, and pampering.

Saturday was all the stuff you do on your day off – food shopping, odd jobs around the house, sorting bills etc.  Hannah tried a new dinner – the mains was a sausage casserole and was lovely, the chocolate dessert was a bit too cakey and not as moussey as it looked in the picture – maybe we’ll cook it less next time.

Sunday was a busy one – I led a session on prayer for the 11-14s in the morning.  We had great fun with 13 different prayer stations spread across the top of the church.  Some young people seem to really engage with it, but I’ve learnt that some 11-14s are even if they don’t show they are.  My hope is that it challenged them to see different ways they can hang out with God.  The evening was our second session of the Network Course for our 14-18s, it is a good course, but very American, and quite clearly for adults so we’re having quite a lot of fun trying to see if it fits, if it works for our older teens.

On my task list this week: Lots of meetings this week, popping in to the Elders meeting which is always a blessing.  Hoping to get some paper shuffled across my office into actions and nicely filed away, lots of letters to write to young people, parents and leaders.

Procrastinating about: Letter writing for our weekend away – lots of letters due out this week – I need to sit and get the templates finalised.

Book I’m in the midst of: Loving The Year of Living Biblically, and been really challenged whilst reading Church Unlimited: Youth Work and Mission Today by Nick Shepherd and Jonathan Brant – review to follow soon.

Music that I’ve been working along to: The Bach Book: 40th Anniversary Album by Jacques Loussier Trio.

How I’m feeling about this week: Longing for a week in the office to get organised, to get ready for all the new stuff!
