The weekend that was:Friday was the usual Brigades and Amicus – I had more freedom and time to pop in some of our different groups. It’s great seeing the new year 7 and 10s settling into there new groups and producing some very different dynamics to what we had last year.
Saturday was a trip to London, Hannah’s grandad very generously treats his family to a theatre trip and dinner. This year we went to see Oliver which was a good show, and nice to see the story visualised. The food as usual was awesome – a big cold buffet, cavery and then a wonderful pear and almond tart.
Sunday was a manic day at church:
- I led our family service
- Co-ordinated young leaders training for 22 of our young people including providing dinner
- Did a big set up for our Sunday night youth work
- Preached at SNR
God is doing some great things in our youth work and I just keep being amazed at how he turns up.
On my task list this week: I’m sitting in some regional meetings this week, start of youth alpha, trying to re-schedule a few meetings, and starting work on our Youth Cafe at church.
Procrastinating about: Chasing people who I’ve emailed or rung but not had a reply from.
Book I’m in the midst of: Still reading The Complete Book of Discipleship by Bill Hull.
Music that I’ve been working along to: Listened to a bit of Paul van Dyk on spotify recently – some nice techno beats.
How I’m feeling about this week: Justy loving what God is doing, but feeling like we’re working very hard, hoping for a little slack this week.
St Bartz would probably work for the 14plus. The web page appears to be down though. It’s at Spithurst
Barnabas Trust’s Halls Green centre is very close (Sevenoaks Weald) but feels like you’re a lot further away from home once you’re there! Lots of activities, including an indoor pool. Probably better for the 11-14s.
Thanks Ian, will have a look out for it.
