Children Matter point out the Childrens Scrapstore:

Membership is open to groups working in creative play, care, educational or therapeutic settings. Although we are called ‘Children’s Scrapstore’ we do offer membership to all age groups.

We currently have around 1300 member groups. These are the types of groups who are members:

Adventure playgrounds, After school clubs, Art groups, Art therapists, Breakfast clubs, Brownies/Guides, Care homes, Children’s Centres, City farms, Community artists, Community centres, Community groups, Childminders, Creches, Church groups, Day care centres, Day nurseries, Dance groups, Drama groups, FE College courses, Festival workshops, Gardening clubs, Home educators, Lunchtime clubs, Music groups, Nannies, Out of school clubs, Parent/carer & toddler groups, Pre-schools, Playgroups, Playschemes, RACs, Schools, Scouts/Cubs, Uniformed groups, University courses, Woodcraft folk, Workshop providers, Youth Clubs.

Check out their web site to find information on over 100 local branches supplying craft materials.

I have used these with two previous churches I have been involved in (Worthing and Exeter) and both of them were fantastic – you could come away with mountains of resources for very little cost.  It certainly makes crafts for primary school aged groups cheap and easy.  If you have one near you and haven’t already discovered it, I can’t recommend them enough, go check them out.
