Chelsea won the battle of the top two with a Drogba goal which was clearly offside.  But everyone saw that Manchester United never properly got into the game, whilst Chelsea dominated, so it’s clear they deserved their win.  Malouda who was key for Chelsea in the first half, passed across goal to set up Joe Cole, who finished with a neat backheel.

In the second half United attempted to attack, and Macheda did score, but Chelsea soon stopped any sense that United would threaten in the game.  This was mainly due to a lack of power up front – Rooney was well missed – Berbatov never seemed a threat, even when Giggs late on set him up perfectly against Cech he didn’t look close to scoring.

Chelease will be very happy with the result which in effect ends United and Arsenal’s title hopes, unless Chelsea slip up at Liverpool.
