The League Managers Association have confirmed that Steve Clarke has left Liverpool Football Club.

Rodgers is yet to name his assistant but Swansea and Liverpool agreed a compensation package which sees performance analyst Chris Davies and head of sports science and medicine Glen Driscoll joining the club.

It is rumoured that Clarke, 38, offered his resignation last month following the departure of Dalglish – however it was declined by the club.  Clarke was widely regarded to have done a great job at Anfield, improving the defense, which was only bettered in the league by the two Manchester clubs last season.
