The unjustness of a game was seen so clearly in the Champions League final last night.  As a Liverpool fan I’m not particularly keen on either team but I do feel for Cheslea today, especially for John Terry.  To think if he hadn’t slipped on the poor grass of the Luzhniki Stadium he would have lifted the cup.  It particularly doesn’t seem fair after the Cristiano Ronaldo miss.

There can be no crueler game than football.  Time and time again, penalty shootouts prove that there is very little correlation between the way the game is played in ‘normal time’ and the actual result.  Chelsea were the better team, and when Ronaldo missed his penalty, it appeared to be a fitting culmination of how the game was played.

One moment we are up; the next, down. And the cycle goes on – that is the game we love so much.
