Saw this post on The Thank You Note Scoring Sheet which gives you a score guide for how to write thank you notes, below are a few of the highlights:

  • Written within 24 hours of the event: 10 points.
  • Written within three days of the event: 7 points.
  • Written a month or more after the event: 2 points
  • Not written at all: Minus 10 points.
  • Handwritten on fine stationery: 10 points.
  • Typed in an email: 5 points.
  • Scrawled on a cocktail napkin: 1 point.
  • Sent via Instant Messaging: Minus 5 points.
  • Addressed to Dear Friend: Minus 20 points.
  • Simply expresses sincere thanks: 10 points.

  1. For your project, how did you include ‘groups on the fringe of mainstream services, eg, learning difficulties, travellers, young carers, young people in care, refugees, asylum seekers, homeless young people, young parents, or those in rural isolation??’

  2. We were type of encouraged to look at that, but not to worry about it too much. There are very few groups in Brentwood who can meet any of those criteria, was the comment I heard. They are more interested in the links with Children Matter, and that the ideas come from the young people themselves – not the youth workers.
