Pete Greig kicked off the main part of Youthwork the conference off with one of the best talks to youthworkers I’ve possibly ever heard (I think only a Matt Summerfield has ever bettered it). It wasn’t logical, it wasn’t always clear, but it was exactly what I needed to hear for now.
Below are some of his key points:
We need to preach the good news of becoming the good news.
We have to deal with wilderness, instead we normally think we’ve taken the wrong path.
Like a SatNav God just recalibrates our journey when we go off course.
We have to choose to trust God’s words over the things we think/experience.
Between blessing and breakthrough comes wilderness, desert and temptation.
