Faith and pop cultureThomas Nelson sent me a copy of Faith and Pop Culture (Christianity Today Study) by Christianity Today.  It’s part of their series of study notes for small groups – this one provides 8 weeks worth of material on the topic of culture.  Over the 8 weeks you cover:

  • Movies
  • Books
  • Sports
  • Television
  • Family friendly entertainment
  • Violence
  • Christian influences on Hollywood
  • Entertainment v Faith

Each week starts with a mini-essay/article which can be used to start the debate.  This is followed by two options for an opening activity, an introduction to the issue, an oportunity to reflect, a chance to dig deeper, and an application to move forward with.

The notes come across as well written and designed.  I would be very interested in using them with the older teens that I work with.

Thanks to Thomas Nelson for giving me a copy to review.

  1. Its all about HTML coding. Left click the picture you want and then go to ‘Properties’. Copy the picture location. In your blog post you need to write the following code (without the ~)

<~a href~=~"http://the address you want to link to"~><~img src=~"the location of the picture that you copied~"~><~/~a~>

that should be it. I had to put ~’s in to stop the code affectin my post. good luck. x
