Thomas Nelson sent me a copy of Faith and Pop Culture (Christianity Today Study) by Christianity Today. It’s part of their series of study notes for small groups – this one provides 8 weeks worth of material on the topic of culture. Over the 8 weeks you cover:
- Movies
- Books
- Sports
- Television
- Family friendly entertainment
- Violence
- Christian influences on Hollywood
- Entertainment v Faith
Each week starts with a mini-essay/article which can be used to start the debate. This is followed by two options for an opening activity, an introduction to the issue, an oportunity to reflect, a chance to dig deeper, and an application to move forward with.
The notes come across as well written and designed. I would be very interested in using them with the older teens that I work with.
Thanks to Thomas Nelson for giving me a copy to review.
