A few years ago the church I was based in did a fantastic sermon series based on Matters of life and death by John Wyatt.  Medical ethical and moral decisions are made by many each day and the church is often asked for its viewpoint.  Sadly, however, it often speaks from a place of limited knowledge.

These are times that provide priceless opportunities to think and talk about life and what it means to be human.  Professor Wyatt’s book is a great guide as he helps people examine the core issues with pastoral concern as a mature Christian and a great medical background (he is Professor of Ethics and Perinatology at University College Hospital, London, and a practising doctor) through the lens of scripture.

Because he takes care to tackle difficult ethical questions head-on, applying biblical wisdom and drawing on a wide range of case studies (some of which derive from his own professional experience), I cannot recommend this book enough.
