Outbreak: Creating a Contagious Youth Ministry Through Viral Evangelism was an interesting read. I find Greg Stier helpful and challenging to read. 90% of what he says I fully support, and then there are times when to me he comes across as too fundamental, too black and white, and I don’t think that works in my youth work setting in Kent, in the United Kingdom.
The book looks at what it means to share authentic Christianity, how we should be passionaite, how it should be a viral infection passed around our churches, and wider into the community. The analogy works well, and there are many helpful pointers throughout the book. I especially valued the ‘red dot reviews’ at the end of each chapter with a couple of key mandates – actions to do; and a few key questions to be chatting through as a team.
A good read that’s worth a look at, just be aware you might not agree with everything Stier says.
