As with any Grisham novel Playing for Pizza was an engaging read.  Rick Dockery was a failed NFL quarterback having provided one of the most laughed at performances ever in an AFC Championship Game losing the lead for his team.

He ends up as the starting quarterback for the Panthers of Parma in Italy.  The novel follows the story of Rick’s experience as he engages with Italian culture, language and their football players.

Married to the amazing Sarah and raising Jakey, Daniel, Amelia, Josh & Jonah in our blended family. Passionate for Jesus, social work & sport.
