I absolutely love Sacred Space: A Hands-on Guide to Creating Multi Sensory Worship Experiences for Youth Ministry by Dan Kimball and Lilly Lewin. This book provides loads of practicalideas on how to help teenagers engage spiritually, beyond the average sermon. It includes sessions on…
- The life of Christ
- The life of David
- The Sermon on the Mount
- The Gospel of Luke
- Women of the Bible
- Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter
Each session is detailed out into the different prayer stations and creative responses and includes information on everything you need to collect to make it happen. The book costs more than the average book (£17.99 on Amazon) partly because of the CD which includes pdf and editable word versions of all the print outs.
I used the stations based around the life of David at a recent Boy’s Brigade young leader training weekend and they seemed to go down very well. I’d certainly look to re-use those stations again, and we’re planning to do something at Easter time from this book with our young people.
If you’re a youth worker I believe you need to get this book – it gives so much detail, and the editable files on the CD allow you to present the stations and response areas really well.
