As part of my involvement in Cape Town 2010 someone suggested I read  Shining like stars: The Power of the Gospel in the World’s Universities by Lindsay Brown.  The book is a brief history of world mission in the context of students and universities.  It starts with reflections from Daniel in the Old Testament, then covering a number of topics – both theological and geographical – for example what does it mean for students to show courage and the word of life, to reviewing Europe since 1989.

Much of the book comes from Lindsay’s experience and work at IFES (the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students) as General Secretary from 1991-2007.  It is written in a similar vein to From Cambridge to the World: 125 Years of Student Witness by Oliver Barclay and Bob Horn.  The book is an informative and inspiring read.

Married to the amazing Sarah and raising Jakey, Daniel, Amelia, Josh & Jonah in our blended family. Passionate for Jesus, social work & sport.
