Over the last two months, on and off I’ve used The Rhythm of Prayer: A Forty Day Experience by Mark Moore in my quiet times.  The book takes the concept of using the same structure, the same rhythm for all 40 days:

  • An opening prayer
  • A psalm
  • Prayer of confession
  • Another psalm
  • A piece of scripture (normally from Ephesians, Romans, or Isaiah)
  • Intercession
  • The Lord’s prayer
  • Silent meditation
  • Concluding prayer

My big issue with the book is that it mainly uses the King James Version for its bible translation meaning it seems out of date and out of touch.  For this reason I’d only give it a 2/5.
