young-people-missionThe Church of England seem to be leading the way with thinking about youth ministry in the UK and this book continues in that strong vein.  The title is slightly confusing – mainly due to the way the word mission is defined in so many differing ways in the church today, however, a quick scan read of the contents makes it clear that this book is about how we reach young people through the church, outside the church; and resourcing young people to be missionaries themselves.

A number of experts combine together to give an easy overview of a number of different opportunities to reach young people, be it uniformed organizations, schools work, nightclubs, environmental issues and so on.  All the chapters were easy to read, clearly strcutured and generally left you wanting more.  They all managed to challenge me to think how was TBC dealing with that issue, what more should we be doing.

I’ve already got the book on young people + worship in this series and am very much looking forward to reading this.  A must for UK based youth workers.

  2. Great assembly idea – my husband used it for our primary school Easter assembly this morning & it went down a storm.
Do you know of any central pools of resources for christian assemblies – difficult to keep coming up with new ideas esp at main festivals.
    Many thanks.
