Hannah and I went to Leeds Castle with our friends Heather and Rich yesterday. As you can tell, from the above picture I took, it was a beautiful day. The castle itself was slightly random in that it is really the size of stately home, it isn’t actually that big, and as you tour around it you see how it was decorated at various stages, especially in the last century.
The grounds are lovely, with a full jousting tournament going on (which we gave a miss to) and a wonderful falconry demonstation – we all decided that the owl was our favourite bird.
The ticket price at £16.50 is steep but does give you ‘a key’ to the castle for the next twelve months. It will be interesting to see if Hannah and I make use of the opportunity to go back again for free sometime in the next year.
