I was away leading some Children’s & Youth Leader Training at Upper Beeding Baptist Church and so missed most of the live coverage of the march in London.  But when I did catch a glimpse on the TV, and then as I listened to the radio on the journey home, there seemed to be a disproportionate focus on the violence – the actions of a few hundred seemed to drown out the message of up to 500,000 people.

Does the constant live coverage of the violent protests not serve to encourage these violent protestors.  They know that by going beyond the peaceful protest, by throwing paint, smashing windows, and injuring police officers they will end up as the main headline of the national news.  As the saying goes any publicity is good publicity – that seems to work for them – to the detriment of the law-abiding peaceful majority.

What do you think?
