Peter Crouch’s goal against Man City yesterday was outstanding.
The ball never touches the ground as it is released from the goalkeeper. For such a big man (6′ 7″) he has fantastic touch – he controls Pennant’s return header perfectly. Crouch then strikes the ball, on its way down, with a beautiful lob trajectory to beat one of football’s best goalkeepers, from an acute angle about 18 yards out from goal. Even if Joe Hart had managed to save, this would have been a magnificent effort. He could not which meant this was a phenomenal goal.
