The weekend that was: Friday night was a straightforward Brigades’ night.  I enjoyed having the space to get alongside one or two young people and hear chunks of their life – always a joy.

Saturday was spent on a Boys’ Brigade Juniors fun day at Gillingham Baptist.  I hadn’t intended to go, Hannah and I had a diary mis-communication – it was good to meet some of the youngsters who will be ocming up in the next few years, but it did remind me of the importance of protecting the day off.

Sunday was a family service focussed on the shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child which we had wrapped the previous weekend.  It was nice to have the service ‘off’ and be able ot sit next to Hannah.  The evening saw TBC youthwork continuing the series on Christmas: Walking in the footsteps of … (that Jon – who has started blogging again and I wrote this autumn).  This time I was with the 11-14s and came out having really enjoyed the time with them – they seemed to repond to what we were saying and I’m really hopeful for how next weekend will go with the opportunity to respond to Jesus’ birth 2000 years later.  Followed church up with a meeting with a really gifted volunteer looking at how we strucutre our admin and some stuff to do with the youth vision – really inspiring times.

On my to-do list this week: Speaking a lot this week and some big thoughts to get down on paper as part of our vision process.

Procrastinating about: nothing much.

Book I’m in the midst of: Read quite a lot in the last few weeks – now into Facedown by Matt Redman.

Music that I’ve been working along to: Christmas music is a must by this time of year!

How I’m feeling about this week: Enjoying being more organised.

Married to the amazing Sarah and raising Jakey, Daniel, Amelia, Josh & Jonah in our blended family. Passionate for Jesus, social work & sport.
