The weekend that was: Friday night was Brigades.  We continued our devotions for the 11-14s focussed on Jesus – this week looking at what he said about himself.  The young people seemed more attentive which was great.  The 14-18s watched Yeshua Messiah, a musical put on by some of the church members, and Fran and I hung out with those who didn’t want to watch it.  It was nice to get to spend time with some of the young people I hadn’t really got to know so far.  After that was a surprise birthday party for Paul my boss – he is indeed now older!

Saturday was a food hygiene course followed by trying to get my iTunes off the network and onto the C drive.  I seemed to have failed miserably on this, I now have lots of music on my iPod which doesn’t seem to be anywhere else, doh!  I did manage, whilst cooking and sorting out at home, manage to watch some West Wing again for the first time in ages – I’m now half way through Series 7 – it’s getting exciting!

Sunday for the first time in ages I got to sit in R’n’R, our group for 11-14 year olds.  It was great to see this group of young people really digging into the character of Hannah, and her perserverance, big well done to Janet as it was a really good session.

We had dinner with a couple from our housegroup which was lovely.  I enjoyed hearing more of their life story and answering their questions.  Then back to church to chat with some young people about a bid we’re putting into the local council to re-design our youth room.  Church followed this, and I was speaking again in Senior SNR, our group for 14-18 year olds.  It was a good night looking at the life of Elijah.  The talk didn’t feel too good, but a few young people commented afterwards about how it was what they needed to hear so God obviously used it which is nice.

On my to-do list this week: A lot of meetings, a lot of stuff to do with funding for our youth room re-design, and preparing for Harvest.

Procrastinating about: Paperwork, I’ve got a lot of meetings at the moment so it is easy to let preparation and study get left behind.

Book I’m in the midst of: I am definitely oging to finish Scot McKnight’s new book, I had found it a bit dry, but a new section on the Bible caught my imagination over the weekend.  Also trying to read Jools Holland’s auto-biography.

Music that I’ve been working along to: My iTunes has got a bit mucked up with trying to transfer it from the network onto the C drive and so I haven’t got much music at the moment – something to sort this week.

How i’m feeling about this week: Busy.
