The weekend that was: Friday night was our usual mixture of Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades. I managed in the middle of playing football with some of our 14-18s to split my trousers!
Saturday was my first day off in a while so Hannah and I went to see Wicked up in London, using a voucher Debz, they year-out girl I worked with last year gave us as we left Essex. It was a good show, with some great vocalists, and nice to catch up with David and Margie for a bit.
On Sunday morning I was speaking on friendship to our 11-14s. Unsurprisingly we had a more slimmed down attendance due to the change over to British Summer Time, but it was an enjoyable session.
As I’ve already blogged, Sunday night we took some of our 11-14s out to a Chinese all you can eat which was great fun. Something I certainly intend to repeat.
On my task list this week: I’m writing this a day late having gone to a Targeted Youth Support event yesterday. The rest of this week is full of Easter assemblies and prep for the weekend.
Procrastinating about: Still wrestling with the structure of the sessions for our youth weekend away.
Book I’m in the midst of: Still reading Youth Work After Christendom, and have also started Hot, Flat and Crowded: Why the World Needs a Green Revolution by Thomas L. Friedman.
Music that I’ve been working along to: Enjoying Sigur Ross at the moment.
How I’m feeling about this week: Excited about Easter assemblies, dreaming of time in the office to get organised.
