We’ve moved. I can now longer claim to belong to Essex, Hannah and I now own a property in Tonbridge. We were given the keys to our new house last Friday. With some encouragement from our new house group we managed to paint two of the bedrooms. Originally one was bright blue with a ‘Skater boi’ border all around it; the other was bright green, with a red trim, and on one wall a mural of a woodland scene with two trees and squirrels and birds.
Our furniture arrived out of storage on Thursday, we’ve spent the last few days trying to unpack, sort and place as much as we can. We seem to be making good progress – the downstairs is basically done. Upstairs we’re a little behind because we need to finish painting the skirting boards and drawers in the study, which means the second bedroom is still full of boxes and furniture. We’ll get there in the end I’m sure!
Forgetting all that it’s already beginning to feel like home – it’s nice to have a warm bed, and a nice hot shower back. But beyond that it’s been great to have young people already popping in, and it only takes 3 minutes to walk to church.
I’m sure we’ll have more to say about the house over the next few months, especially as the kitchen requires some work on it, but that gives you an update on where we are now.
