We’ve seen some proper criticism of Real Madrid and Perez for the excessive transfer fee of Cristiano Ronaldo:
I completely agree. I don’t understand capitalism and economics to a great level, but I struggle with the concept that anyone’s skill is worth £80 million. Perez has argued that the large amounts Ronaldo, Kaka (and maybe others) will cost is fine because it will generate more income from merchandising, the sale of audiovisual rights, advertising and marketing. I still don’t see how it can be justified, when you could use that money to make such a difference in the world.
What do you think, is £80 million justifiable?
