Tonight I was sat in a Church Meeting wanting to be watching the football.  To make matters worse, when I get home I discover that it was a great game and even wose that my team (Liverpool) lost.

Having failed in 2005 and 2007 Chelsea finally beat us in a Champions League semi-final.  It sounds like Drogba responded to Benitez’s comments in pure class with some great play and two goals to ensure Chelsea won 3-2 after extra time and 4-3 on aggregate.

Torres as usual was our saviour but we couldn’t quite do enough, by the time it went to 3-1 we needed a turn around similar to when we beat Milan in the final.

What it does do, is leave Benitez in an interesting situation with the mess of internal fighting going on in the boardroom.  At the moment I can’t see the point in firing him, as I don’t know who else we could get who would be better, but certainly I would like to see us improve our consistency.

Married to the amazing Sarah and raising Jakey, Daniel, Amelia, Josh & Jonah in our blended family. Passionate for Jesus, social work & sport.
