I am thoroughly enjoying Top Gear tonight although it has become increasingly worthless. It was brave of the BBC to continue to show the section on level crossings following the rail accident on Saturday in Cumbria. I thought it was a good piece of video, although some of the stuff like the farming bit was over the top and a good waste of time but it is a highly entertaining show.

  1. But, Chris, it hasn’t really been billed as a talent show but a popularity contest. Why else would the BBC open the voting lines before anyone has performed? How do they expect people to judge between performances that haven’t even taken place?

I also think that there’s been some voting not just for popular people, but also for people who seem to have put their ‘heart and soul’ into their performance, and who have made the biggest journey during the week.
