Tonbridge Baptist Church is a good-sized church, we have a large number of young people, so one of the key thoughts in the background is how we brand our youth work. How we brand it to the young people, to the leaders, to the parents.
This all started off as a fairly low-key conversation over a new logo. When I arrived the youth work had a logo that was a few years old, and looked like a space like golf club. One of the volunteers with the youth work has a background in design, and so went away and designed a new image for us.
The thought behind the logo is that this is something that can be present on all our publicity, whatever the group is, be it mid-week youth cells, Friday night Brigades, or Sunday worship activities, or information for parents.
My hope is that as we brand around tbcYouth, instead of individual activities, people will have a clearer understanding of what the youth work here at TBC is, and rather than just knowing it for one or two activities, they will see some of the wider picture.
We’re now developing our communication with parents with a half-termly newsletter, and hoping to get a website sorted for young people, parents and leaders. What about you, how do you brand your youth work?
